About the job:
Lead and continuously enhance the firm's compliance and financial crime framework.
Serve as the designated MLRO and primary contact for anti-money laundering (AML) matters.
Ensure compliance with FINMA requirements, Swiss AML legislation, and other applicable regulatory obligations.
Develop, implement, and maintain internal compliance policies, procedures, and controls.
Oversee AML, KYC, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, and suspicious activity reporting.
Provide regulatory guidance to senior management and business teams on new products and strategic initiatives.
Liaise with FINMA, SROs, auditors, banking partners, and other external stakeholders.
Lead regulatory reporting and oversee responses to regulatory inquiries and inspections.
Conduct compliance risk assessments and monitor regulatory developments affecting digital assets and financial services.
Deliver compliance training and foster a strong culture of integrity across the organisation.
Manage and develop the compliance team as the business continues to grow.
About the candidate:
12+ years of experience in compliance, financial crime, AML, or regulatory risk within financial services.
Significant experience in the cryptocurrency, digital assets, fintech, banking, or securities sectors.
Previous experience serving as MLRO or in a comparable senior compliance leadership role.
Strong knowledge of Swiss financial services regulation, FINMA requirements, AMLA, AMLO, and applicable regulatory frameworks.
Experience interacting directly with regulators, auditors, and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to build and enhance compliance programmes within a regulated environment.
Strong commercial judgement with the ability to balance regulatory requirements and business objectives.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Fluent German and English are essential (spoken and written).
